About the position

As a Math and Reading Intervention Teacher at Catapult Learning, you will play a crucial role in the academic success of students in grades K-12 across Beaufort, St. Helena Island, and Seabrook, SC. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, allowing you to engage with students in a face-to-face school setting. Your primary responsibility will be to instruct small groups of students in reading, English Language Arts (ELA), and mathematics, focusing on intervention strategies that cater to their individual learning needs. You will utilize company-designed materials and educational strategies to deliver designated instructional models that enhance students' readiness, reading, mathematics, and writing skills. In this role, you will develop and maintain individualized lesson plans that are skill-appropriate, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive academically. Supervision of students is paramount, and you will be responsible for escorting them safely to and from classrooms and learning stations, which may involve climbing stairs and light lifting. Timely data entry is essential, as you will need to document student attendance, conduct online pre/post testing, and maintain progress reports and communication forms with parents and classroom teachers. You will also schedule and attend parent meetings and conferences, establishing and maintaining student forms and files as required by various educational agencies. Consistent communication with company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents is vital to ensure a collaborative approach to student success. Your role will also involve customizing targeted lesson plans using provided resources, maximizing instructional time, and fostering an empowering classroom culture that encourages critical thinking and student ownership of their learning. Responsibilities

  • Instruct Reading/ELA and Math to small groups of students in multiple grade levels.
  • Deliver designated instructional models in readiness, reading, mathematics, and writing skills.
  • Utilize company-provided curriculum to develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classrooms/learning stations.
  • Perform data entry in a timely fashion to meet deadlines (student attendance, online pre/post testing, progress reports, parent and classroom teacher communication forms, compliance documentation).
  • Schedule and attend parent meetings/conferences.
  • Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Maintain consistent communication with company supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents.
  • Customize targeted lesson plans using resources provided.
  • Maximize instructional time, meeting student needs through pacing, wait time, and differentiation.
  • Engage students by establishing a clear purpose for learning and fostering a growth mindset.
  • Document student learning exposure and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Teaching Certificate
  • Classroom teaching, internship, and/or tutoring experience
  • Willingness and ability to teach both Math and Reading/ELA to various grade levels
  • Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication
