About the position

The Teacher - Kindergarten position at Adams 12 Five Star Schools is a permanent and regular role aimed at fostering an exemplary educational program that promotes achievement for all students. The teacher will be responsible for implementing effective teaching methods to ensure student success, creating a positive educational climate, and meeting course and school-wide student performance goals. This role requires planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities tailored to the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. In this position, the teacher will participate in ongoing training sessions, create and modify lesson plans throughout the year, and utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning. The teacher will also be responsible for grading papers, performing administrative duties, and staying abreast of current topics in education. Establishing clear objectives for all learning activities, preparing and distributing parent communications, and managing student behavior in the classroom are also essential duties. The teacher will observe and evaluate student performance to ensure that all students are achieving their learning goals. Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
  • Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions
  • Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year
  • Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed
  • Read and stay abreast of current topics in education
  • Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning
  • Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
  • Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
  • Prepare and distribute parent communications
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire
  • Must possess the required license and endorsement
  • Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement
