About The Position
The Teacher - Math position at Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) Online for the 2024-25 academic year involves providing instruction and support in implementing online teaching best practices. The role requires the application of online technology and the use of the online learning management system to deliver courses for the CCPS virtual school program. The teacher will assist in developing and utilizing digital content within the K-12 academic environment, modeling effective integration of e-Learning technologies and instructional design practices. This position is performed at a professional level within specific program guidelines and supports the PACE (online credit recovery) program, with additional online teaching assignments as needed. The essential job functions include collaborating with identified staff to develop digital content that supports the CCPS virtual school program and the school division's blended learning initiative. The teacher will also support online teachers in using the school district's learning management system, design and conduct training for personnel in integrating online learning objects and digital content, and promote curriculum models that effectively utilize e-Learning and information/communication technologies. Establishing communication channels to achieve online learning program goals is crucial, as is demonstrating exemplary online teaching and instructional design practices. The teacher will ensure that development criteria and instructional design standards are met and implemented, provide training and support in using the online learning management system and other e-Learning technologies, and participate in ongoing training and projects related to job responsibilities. A commitment to improving professional competence is expected, along with teaching students enrolled in virtual courses and online credit recovery programs. Continuous assessment of student learning and adapting instruction to meet individual and group needs are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and the position does not carry budgetary responsibility or formal policy-setting responsibilities.
