About The Position

The position is for a Teacher of Mathematics at Sahuarita High School, with a contract term of 10 months. The teacher will develop and implement a curriculum program consistent with district educational goals and objectives. The role involves observing and monitoring student behavior, establishing a safe and respectful classroom atmosphere, assessing student needs, and planning instructional activities. The teacher will also evaluate student progress, communicate with parents, and collaborate with instructional teams.

Requirements

• Valid Arizona teaching certification.
• Highly Qualified in the subject to be taught as defined by Federal Standards.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets minimum qualifications.
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Observes and monitors control of students' behavior in various settings.
• Establishes and maintains a classroom atmosphere that ensures emotional and physical safety.
• Assesses student needs and develops daily lesson plans.
• Plans and organizes classroom materials and space.
• Utilizes classroom management techniques to maintain order and safety.
• Plans instruction based on student needs and curriculum objectives.
• Evaluates written materials and analyzes student progress.
• Informs parents of student progress and instructional methods.
• Participates as a member of an instructional team.
• Notifies site administrator of special needs of students.
• May monitor activities of teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Orders classroom supplies and instructional materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
