About the position
The Teacher - Mechanical Design position at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution focuses on instructing individuals in a one-year diploma program in Computer Drafting-Mechanical, accredited by the Wisconsin Technical College System. The role involves teaching essential skills in Mechanical Design Technology, including proficiency in CAD software and effective classroom management. The instructor is responsible for evaluating student performance, maintaining equipment, and ensuring program outcomes are met.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in a one-year diploma Computer Drafting-Mechanical vocational program.
- Teach skills in Mechanical Design Technology, including CAD 2D, CAD 3D, Auto CAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, and Flexi-Sign software.
- Evaluate students both formatively and summatively.
- Maintain and inventory equipment and supplies for the program.
- Implement effective classroom and lab management techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design Technology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years (4000 hours) of occupational experience in Mechanical Design, with at least 1 year (2000 hours) within the last 5 years.
- Possibility for applicants without a Bachelor's degree to qualify with relevant occupational experience and a commitment to obtain the degree.
Nice-to-haves
