About the position

The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) is seeking passionate and dedicated educators for the 2024-25 school year to join our intentional and caring community. We are committed to creating joyful, healing, and liberatory spaces of learning for our students, families, and communities. Our educators are equity-focused and resilient, embodying our core values of putting students first, promoting joy, ensuring equity, striving for excellence, maintaining integrity, and being culturally responsive. OUSD's mission is to build a Full Service Community District that focuses on high academic achievement while serving the whole child. We aim to eliminate inequity and provide each child with excellent teachers every day. Our vision is for all OUSD students to find joy in their academic experiences and graduate equipped with the skills necessary to become caring, competent, fully-informed, critical thinkers prepared for success in college, career, and community. Our strategic plan emphasizes four key initiatives: ensuring strong third-grade readers, supporting powerful graduates, creating inspiring schools, and growing a diverse and stable staff.
