About the position
The Camden County Technical Schools is seeking a Teacher of Mathematics for a temporary long-term substitute position for the 2024-2025 school year at the Gloucester Township Campus. The role involves teaching the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and/or Industry Standards through the district curriculum, fostering a learning environment that promotes personal growth, and maintaining good relationships with parents and staff. The position requires a valid New Jersey Teacher of Mathematics Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility, along with a thorough knowledge of effective teaching methods and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Select relevant materials, resources, and technologies that support instructional goals.
- Prepare lesson plans that meet school and district standards.
- Plan lessons that connect to New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
- Modify instructional plans based on student achievement.
- Use Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
- Exhibit positive communication and encourage student engagement.
- Organize tasks for independent student work.
- Prepare students to handle materials and maximize instructional time.
- Display understanding of content-specific instructional practices.
- Provide clear directions and expectations for students.
- Encourage inquiry and critical thinking among students.
- Differentiate lesson pacing for individual student needs.
- Establish high expectations for all students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Maintain accurate non-instructional records.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction.
- Report safety violations to the principal.
- Engage in professional development and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional activities.
- Provide career guidance and utilize community resources.
- Communicate with parents/guardians effectively.
- Analyze student progress data to maximize achievement.
- Maintain a log of professional development hours.
- Uphold school rules and board policy.
- Execute requirements of the district's electronic data system.
- Demonstrate competencies expected in classroom observations.
- Teach only the approved curriculum assigned by administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of Mathematics Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
- Thorough knowledge of Industry Standards and/or New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies.
- Ability to maintain a safe and caring learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with parents/guardians.
- Successfully undergo a criminal history check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
- Meet health qualifications required of all personnel.
- Meet NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.
