About the position

The Teacher of Special Education Students with Disabilities at Destrehan High School is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with mild to moderate disabilities. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications to succeed academically and socially in the school environment. In addition to instructional responsibilities, the teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in the students' education. The position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and acceptance among all students. The teacher will also participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and contribute to the overall improvement of the school's special education program. Responsibilities

Requirements
