About the position
Ampersand Therapy is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position involves working in-person with K-12 students, focusing on providing specialized education to those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The role emphasizes equity, community support, and sustainable practices within the educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach and support K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of students.
- Collaborate with other educators and therapists to enhance student learning.
- Provide assessments and evaluations of student progress.
- Engage in professional development and continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Teaching Certification in Deaf Education or Special Education.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Mid-level proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development.
- DHH Teacher Licensure (Preferred) and WA Teaching Credentials (Required).
