About the position

The Clarke Schools for Hearing & Speech is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in providing exceptional educational services to children with hearing loss. This position focuses on developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support necessary to thrive academically and socially. The role involves collaboration with families, educators, and specialists to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and specialists to support student learning.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust IEPs as needed.
  • Provide direct instruction in listening and spoken language skills.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of hearing loss and its impact on learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children with hearing loss in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology for hearing.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly in American Sign Language.
