About the position

The Teacher at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is responsible for guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ-centered environment. This role involves implementing the school's curriculum, adhering to the policies of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The Teacher reports directly to the principal and plays a crucial role in the mission of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school matters and adhere to safety training and protocols.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum program.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid state teaching certificate.
• Proficiency in technology for educational purposes, including word processing and multimedia presentations.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned subject area(s).
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
