About the position

The Teacher for Physical Education is responsible for providing both in-person and virtual instruction to students, focusing on their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The role involves developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and creating a conducive learning environment while adhering to district curriculum requirements and educational standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person and virtual learning that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
• Provide timely feedback to students and track their progress through various methods.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents via phone, email, or video conferencing.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
• Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements.
• Current AED and CPR certification for Physical Education teachers.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning.
• Ability to instruct students using various technology applications and platforms.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in teaching or related work experience.
• Knowledge of Internet and web-related technology.
