About the position

The Teacher for Distance Learning and In-person Learning is responsible for providing students with appropriate instruction in both in-person and virtual settings. The role aims to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, enabling them to develop competencies and skills necessary for successful functioning in society.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program.
  • Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student differences.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology.
  • Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
  • Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
  • Plan and assign work to instructional aides and oversee completion.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and provide feedback related to student achievement.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students' development.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training.
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned and curriculum and instruction.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate for Physical Education Teachers.
