About the position

Professional development is encouraged, and participation in staff meetings and committees is required. Responsibilities

  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of the students.
  • Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  • Diagnoses the learning abilities of students and seeks assistance from district specialists as needed.
  • Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
  • Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
  • Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order in a fair manner.
  • Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and evaluates their performance.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.

Requirements
