About the position
The classroom teacher at Beekman Center is responsible for delivering a developmental and instructional program tailored to the needs of assigned students. This role emphasizes the creation and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), daily lesson planning, and monitoring student progress while collaborating with various stakeholders including staff, parents, and administrators.
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate a positive learning environment with diverse activities and materials for student intervention and instruction.
- Prepare and implement daily lesson plans and instructional schedules based on Michigan Curriculum Frameworks and individual student goals.
- Monitor student progress and provide consultation to staff, paraprofessionals, agencies, parents, and administrators.
Requirements
- Experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Strong understanding of Michigan Curriculum Frameworks and grade level content expectations.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and instructional activities.
