About the position

We are seeking dedicated full-time paraprofessionals to support K-12 special education students in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. This role involves collaborating with licensed teachers to create an inclusive environment tailored to each student's unique needs, assisting with academic modifications, self-care, and social/behavioral support. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and a Monday-to-Friday schedule, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children's lives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with licensed staff to create a supportive classroom environment
• Work with students to achieve their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals
• Provide individual or small-group support during activities and assignments
• Maintain a positive and safe classroom environment conducive to learning
• Offer crisis support when necessary to promote student wellbeing
• Use a variety of learning methods to adapt to student needs and enhance engagement

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or 60 college credits or passing score on a relevant paraprofessional assessment
• 1-year experience working with children in any structured setting (school, daycare, etc.)
• Professional proficiency in English
• US Work Authorization (no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance)

Nice-to-haves

• ParaPro Certification (with Zen Educate offering support for certification where needed)
• Experience in special education settings or familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Any experience as a Behavioral Technician or PCA is a plus but not required
