About the position

We are seeking part-time paraprofessionals to support K-12 special education students in Colorado Springs. This role involves assisting licensed teachers with academic adaptations, self-care, and social/behavioral needs of students, either on a one-to-one basis or in group settings. The position offers a chance to positively impact the lives of children in special education during the 2024-2025 school year.

Responsibilities

• Assisting licensed staff in the classroom
• Aiding students in meeting their individualized education plan (IEP)
• Maintaining a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Working with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented
• Providing support for students in crisis
• Utilizing a variety of learning methods to enhance the student's learning experiences and support them as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 1+ Years Experience working with children
• Professional proficiency in English
• US Work Authorization

Nice-to-haves

• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Previous experience working in special education
• Crisis prevention training
• Behavioral Technician or PCA experience
