About the position
PS166, The Richard Rodgers School of the Arts and Technology, located on the Upper West Side, is in search of a highly qualified Teaching Assistant for a Kindergarten class. This position is part-time and offers a pay rate of $22 per hour. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about education and working with young children. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in education or those who are interested in pursuing an education degree are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a school, camp, or childcare center, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for supporting the lead teacher in various classroom activities, helping to create an engaging and nurturing atmosphere for kindergarten students. This includes assisting with lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized support to students as needed. The hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, allowing for a structured schedule that aligns with the school day. This position is not affiliated with the Department of Education (DOE) and does not offer benefits. The position is set to start on September 7, 2024, and will conclude on June 26, 2025, with the possibility of renewal for the following school year.
Responsibilities
