About the position
The Montessori School of Rochester is looking for a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in a Montessori classroom for children aged 3 to 6 years. This full-time position involves assisting in maintaining a conducive learning environment and facilitating children's independent learning experiences. The role is essential in ensuring that the classroom operates smoothly, allowing the Lead Teacher to focus on providing individualized lessons.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in a Montessori classroom setting.
- Assist in maintaining order and organization in the classroom.
- Help create educational materials for student use.
- Facilitate children's independent learning and discoveries.
- Participate actively in caring for children, including physical activities.
Requirements
- Experience working with children aged 3-6 years.
- Interest in Montessori education and learning.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and engage in physical activities such as sitting on the floor and being outdoors.
