About the position

The Team Coordinator for Customer Operations at Sentara RMH Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Patient Registration and/or Patient Financial Services. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring quality and customer service, managing departmental budgets, and serving as a technical resource. The coordinator is also tasked with hiring and developing staff to create a highly effective team and acts as the chief retention officer for their areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of Patient Registration and/or Patient Financial Services.
  • Coordinate quality and customer service activities.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the department budget.
  • Coordinate purchasing and payroll processes.
  • Serve as a technical resource to team members.
  • Perform work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and mentor staff.
  • Interview, hire, and develop staff to create an effective work team.
  • Act as chief retention officer for areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree (Required) or equivalent experience in Registration.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) required to be obtained within 12 months.
  • Experience in Call Center, Healthcare, or Managed Care.
