About the position

The Team Leader for the 2nd Shift at SLPT Global Pump Group is responsible for leading a team to ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality products. This role involves training team members, maintaining standardized work processes, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety. The Team Leader will spend the majority of their time on the shop floor, actively engaging with team members to drive performance and address any operational issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead team members to meet production schedules and maintain a safe working environment.
• Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and LOTO procedures.
• Facilitate the 5-S process and ensure compliance with standardized work practices.
• Train team members using standardized work methodologies and validate job breakdown sheets.
• Communicate effectively with the next shift regarding operational issues and concerns.
• Monitor production rates and quality, addressing any abnormalities immediately.
• Assist in maintaining equipment uptime and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
• Complete daily paperwork and documentation related to production and quality control.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic math skills.
• Experience in manufacturing and quality control processes.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Industrial or manufacturing experience with 12-month shop floor operations experience preferred.
• Experience with PLEX software.
