About the position

Siemens Mobility is seeking to hire a Team Lead for Commercial Project Managers/Project Controllers for our Capital Spares business under the Customer Service business unit to support exciting new projects. You will be fully accountable for the commercial and financial management throughout the project execution as you collaborate with internal and external partners. This role involves leading a team of skilled commercial project managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The position can be based in Sacramento, CA with a hybrid work schedule or near another Mobility location to work a hybrid schedule. Remote work can also be considered. In this role, you will manage and lead a team of Commercial Project Managers, ensuring their professional development and growth. You will be responsible for leading projects by creating bookings, setting up project WBS structure, budget, and monitoring project financial status based on the planned delivery schedule. Financial planning, forecasting, controlling, and reconciliation of project cash flow and standard deviation analysis using SAP will be key components of your responsibilities. You will implement and drive measures to improve project performance, including claims management and variation management, while monitoring and communicating trends, assessing implications, and developing practical strategies. Collaboration with multi-functional teams (Project Managers, Legal, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, HR, etc.) will be essential to help them reach their financial goals and drive better efficiency and productivity on bids proposals and ongoing projects. You will also be tasked with producing and analyzing financial reports impacting the Spares Business Segment performance, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the project management team. Additionally, you will serve as a point of escalation for project issues, ensuring timely resolution, and prepare and present project status reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of validated experience with financial planning, accounting, and finance, with the ability to provide strategic insight through financial metrics.
  • Advanced analytical abilities, financial modeling, strong Microsoft Excel skills, knowledge of ERP systems, and strong business modeling skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting with SAP experience.
