About the position

The Field Service Engineer - Team Lead will oversee the Portable Service Team's daily operations, ensuring high levels of customer support and technical assistance for Hitachi Global Air Power products. This role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of compressed air systems, while also documenting service visits and collaborating with various departments to resolve field issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service within the department.
  • Lead a team of service technicians for field service issues.
  • Act as the point of contact for the service team, relaying information, updates, and feedback to upper management.
  • Provide technical assistance related to Hitachi Global Air Power R & I/OEM products via phone and email.
  • Travel to field-based jobsites to troubleshoot and assist in repair of Hitachi Global Air Power R & I/OEM systems.
  • Follow standard work for pre- and post-service preparation, including submitting expense reports and developing service reports.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate distributor feedback to management as Voice of Customer (VOC).
  • Drive field concerns to closure in a timely manner.
  • Assist in writing technical service bulletins and support field campaigns for logistical and scheduling/dispatching service techs.
  • Participate in New Product Development and train new service technicians.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or Technical Trade School preferred.
  • 5+ years of technical troubleshooting experience with Diesel Driven/OEM Compressors.
  • Proven leadership experience in a technical environment.
  • Demonstrated success in training on compressed air systems.
  • Experience with industrial product manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to read and understand schematics.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
