About the position

The Team Lead at Arnett Hospital plays a crucial role in overseeing the laboratory team and ensuring the smooth operation of general laboratory services. The incumbent may also be responsible for patient and specimen registration, ensuring that all specimens are delivered promptly and accurately to the appropriate departments. In addition to technical skills, the Team Lead must possess strong interpersonal skills, as they will be required to work collaboratively with other team members and departments. The position demands a high level of attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Problem-solving skills are essential, as the Team Lead will need to discern when to escalate issues that arise during laboratory operations. The role may also involve participation in committees or projects that contribute to the overall goals and functions of the laboratory department. Responsibilities

  • Lead the laboratory team in coordinating general laboratory services.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science preferred.
  • Completion of initial and six-month competency assessments for identified testing required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a laboratory setting; two years preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers is required.
  • Excellent telephone skills are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member and leader are essential.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods is required.
  • Complex problem-solving skills with the ability to discern when to escalate issues are necessary.
