About the position

The position focuses on facilitating growth initiatives for the Bank through business development and management of key client relationships. The role involves significant revenue generation, adherence to internal control standards, and providing strategic input into business decisions. The individual will act as a subject matter expert, advising on sales strategy and conducting independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates growth initiatives through business development and management of key client relationships.
  • Maintains a record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications.
  • Ensures adherence to internal control standards, including audit and compliance policies.
  • Leads and executes business development plans to achieve business goals.
  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders based on an understanding of the business/group.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Advises on sales strategy based on market understanding and client needs.
  • Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.
  • Develops business cases by identifying needs and assessing expected return on investment.
  • Recommends business priorities and develops a roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights.
  • Coordinates management of databases in adherence to data governance standards.
  • Leads change management programs, including planning and execution.
  • Manages risk of the assigned complex portfolio in a timely manner.
  • Directly manages the annual review process and resolution of exceptions.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Acts as daily sales contact for clients on sales-related questions.
  • Gathers data to advance the sales process and completes required documentation.
  • Assists team in pre-sales activities such as pitch preparation and client research.
  • Tracks implementation requests to keep the process on track.
  • Tracks internal reports and recommends improvements to sales support materials.
  • Compiles pre-call and post-call information packages for client validation.
  • Provides research and data gathering to facilitate solutions for clients.
  • Assists with sales and service administration to ensure a seamless client experience.

Requirements

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated history of successful business development and networking in external markets.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry verticals and competitive environment.
  • Experience in contact negotiations with clients and legal counsel.
  • Experience drafting responses to complex RFPs.
  • Experience with sales strategy and referral process development.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management, sales and service management, and relationship management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
