Responsibilities

• Assist in employee development and advancement through the grade system.
• Ensure adherence to procedures during breaks and shift changes.
• Participate in hiring, scheduling, directing, and developing employees.
• Provide on-the-job training for employees.
• Instill safe work behaviors and train employees in the use of PPE.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
• Prioritize and assign work to meet daily goals.
• Utilize employee skill sets efficiently to complete work tasks.
• Meet internal/external customer requirements for product delivery.
• Support initiatives to reduce scrap and rework and promote continuous improvement.
• Report issues impacting productivity, quality, or safety in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Good organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and be a team player.
• Willingness to continuously learn and trust judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Safety conscious and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

• 2-year degree in business or related technical field highly preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of Six Sigma principles.
