About The Position

The Team Leader for Antigen Production at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA is responsible for providing technical direction and supervision in the biological production area. This role ensures compliance with company policies and regulations, oversees workforce training, and manages documentation related to production processes. The position emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement within the department, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related business or scientific field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in addition to the Bachelor's degree, or six (6) years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience.
  • Experience managing and auditing master receipts, batch records, and process order data within SAP/ERP systems.
  • Experience with ERP inventory control systems is preferred but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to train others and complete OJT assessments.
  • Knowledge of Aseptic or related production techniques and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, EU, and OSHA Part 11 guidelines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong proofreading skills and excellent communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ERP inventory control systems is preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise personnel and communicate departmental concerns to management.
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop personnel in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate activities and schedules within the department.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budget and monitor expenses and capital projects.
  • Purchase operating supplies and recommend new or replacement equipment.
  • Coordinate cycle counts to control inventory in production areas.
  • Organize and prioritize batch record reviews for completed production items.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and approval of SOPs and other business documents for regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and maintain tracking systems for departmental key performance indicators.
  • Provide data and metrics to management regarding production trends and recommendations for error resolution.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and document findings to implement solutions.
  • Investigate production process deviations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
