About the position

The Team Leader-GIS Mapping position at ONE Gas involves leading a team engaged in Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping. The role focuses on coordinating GIS data improvement, quality control, and production mapping while providing support and training to team members. This hybrid position requires a strong background in GIS systems and ESRI products, along with effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist employees engaged in Geographic Information System (GIS) Mapping.
  • Coordinate efforts toward GIS-data improvement, quality control, and production mapping.
  • Facilitate and build GIS editing responsibilities.
  • Delegate work, provide support, perform quality checks, and coach employees around areas of improvement.
  • Monitor incoming work and manage queues for processing.
  • Lead GIS data improvement projects.
  • Run GIS reports and analyze data for errors, identifying causes and solutions.
  • Provide quality control review of data and products and high-level user support for GIS product and application end users.
  • Analyze source documentation for completeness, correctness, and usability.
  • Communicate with business operations to resolve complex source documentation problems.
  • Provide data management support and training to Operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in GIS or related field.
  • 1+ years experience in GIS systems.
  • Experience using ancillary information systems such as Maximo, Banner, ArcMap FM, GWD, Power Business Intelligence, and Dynamics.
  • 1+ years of experience with ESRI desktop software for data editing, querying, map and report creation.
  • 1+ years of experience in a high volume environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for the gas pipeline and utility industry.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and GeoCortex.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of valuating, developing data management & data loading strategies.
  • Experience building Quality Control on mapping production work and providing feedback.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Fluency in reading and writing English.
  • Applicable driver's license.
  • ESRI Desktop Associate certification.
