About the position
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the patients stay, using the nursing process. The Team Leader uses the principles of servant leadership to achieve results for the organization by attending to the needs of those they serve. They are a resource for their nurse team members and assist them with critical thinking, problem solving, removing barriers, training and auditing processes.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate team building.
- Encourage a safe environment by promoting adherence to established protocols, policies and procedures.
- Role model for staff and other departments, adapting positively to the ever-changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes.
- Identify and act to solve problems, supporting process improvement teams that influence customer satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and financial stability.
- Actively support and participate in the work of the huddle metrics for quality improvement.
- Engage in learning and teaching on a daily basis.
- Regularly round on patients and team members focusing on safety, quality, patient experience, and employee satisfaction.
- Promote efficient patient flow including timely discharges and admissions.
Requirements
- Graduate of a program in professional nursing required.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
- Previous experience in acute care preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
