About the position

The Team Leader at Sbarro is responsible for opening the restaurant and ensuring smooth operations during service hours. This role involves food preparation, providing excellent customer service, and supervising team members. The Team Leader must be cross-trained in various duties to adapt to fluctuating sales volumes and assist in different areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Unlocks and opens the restaurant for daily operations.
• Supervises team members in preparing the restaurant for daily operations, including cleaning and food preparation.
• Serves customers at assigned stations, ensuring adherence to guest service standards.
• Maintains product knowledge of menu items and specials.
• Prepares food products according to specifications outlined in the Recipe Manual.
• Practices food safety and sanitation standards required in foodservice establishments.
• Completes cleaning and stocking duties as per daily operating procedures.
• Communicates with co-workers and management regarding food quality and inventory.
• Assists other team members as required.

Requirements

• Ability to follow health and safety laws, policies, and procedures.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Effective and safe use of kitchen knives.
• Adequate command of the English language, including understanding, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Basic mathematical skills for accurate cash handling.
