About the position

The Team Leader at Family Farm and Home is responsible for supporting the company's culture and values while leading a team to achieve sales and operational goals. This role involves motivating team members, managing store operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Team Leader works closely with the store manager to drive sales, manage inventory, and maintain a positive store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
  • Assist store manager in promoting an aggressive sales culture with an intense focus on superior customer service.
  • Maintain professionalism and positive store morale.
  • Assist the store manager in executing and performing all store job responsibilities through associates and personal actions.
  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with actual and potential customers.
  • Establish relationships and support local community groups consistent with company values.
  • Solicit customers to sign up for Family Farm and Home Programs, such as loyalty programs and extended warranties.
  • Manage and protect all inventory and company assets in accordance with company policy against theft and damage.
  • Verify merchandise is received, stored, and merchandised according to established operational and safety procedures.
  • Protect team members and customers while maintaining the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements and providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Assist store manager in determining marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Maintain consistent operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the store manager or company official.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise team members.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Physical ability to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
