The Team Leader at Tractor Supply Company plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in achieving operational, sales, and merchandising objectives. The Team Leader is responsible for fostering a safe and productive work environment for all team members, customers, and vendors. This includes training team members on the appropriate application of company policies and procedures, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the company's mission to improve the lives of their neighbors and teams. In this role, the Team Leader must be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as they are expected to fulfill various responsibilities throughout their shifts. These responsibilities include maintaining regular attendance, working varied hours, and upholding safety standards. The Team Leader is also tasked with delivering exceptional customer service by following the GURA principles: Greeting the Customer, Uncovering Customer's Needs & Wants, Recommending Product Solutions, and Asking to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer. The Team Leader's daily activities will involve executing merchandising activities, performing opening and closing procedures, managing store conditions, and organizing workflow. They will also handle customer complaints, ensure compliance with loss prevention standards, and supervise cash handling procedures. Additionally, the Team Leader will be responsible for the care of birds and poultry, which includes sanitizing and maintaining holding tanks. This position requires a hands-on approach, as the Team Leader will operate equipment such as forklifts and balers, and must be prepared to perform various duties as assigned by management.
