About the position

The Team Manager for Hazardous Materials & Waste Management at Arch Environmental Group, Inc. is responsible for leading a team of environmental professionals in managing hazardous waste, emergency spill response, and waste consulting services. This role emphasizes health and safety, client service, and project management, ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering team development and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support the Team to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Oversee and coordinate ongoing professional development for team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and one-on-one professional development sessions as needed.
  • Align team member goals to company objectives.
  • Draft, revise, and present proposals for team and company-wide work.
  • Develop and administer waste services contracts.
  • Monitor project schedules and resource allocation for timely project completion.
  • Delegate project tasks based on team members' strengths and experience levels.
  • Conduct ongoing Client Services activities, including sales and client satisfaction monitoring.
  • Review documentation produced by team members for compliance.
  • Support team members with site strategy and client interaction.
  • Participate in Management Team discussions and assist with company initiatives.
  • Make staffing determinations and coordinate new hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or science-related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relative project and leadership experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of hazardous materials and waste laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and rules preferred.
  • Experience in providing leadership on high-pressure projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of hazardous waste management and environmental sampling techniques.
  • Proficient in hazardous waste packaging, marking, and labeling.
  • Competent use of environmental testing instrumentation.
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office software, including Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and up to date.
  • EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste Generator training.
  • DOT Hazardous Materials training.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
