About the position

The Team Manager - Production at Ford Motor Company is responsible for overseeing the Final Area Department within the Kentucky Truck Plant. This role involves ensuring that all department scorecard objectives are met, managing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will work across all shifts and crews, serving as a change agent to implement the Ford Production System and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all department scorecard objectives across all shifts/crews.
  • Own processes such as constraint management and standardization across workstations.
  • Plan and implement changes while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a change agent to drive the Ford Production System.
  • Monitor and confirm that manufacturing operating system standards are applied throughout the plant.
  • Develop, coach, and support teams to achieve SQDCPME objectives.
  • Address issues raised by teams and provide necessary resources to maintain production flow.
  • Plan maintenance tasks and monitor their completion and effectiveness.
  • Create a conducive work environment that encourages respect and teamwork.
  • Recognize team accomplishments to improve morale.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Production experience.
  • Strong ability to interface with plant personnel and management.
  • Ability to present effectively in front of plant management.
  • Experience in teaching Ford Production System principles.
  • Union negotiations experience.
  • Competent in data-driven decision making.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent leadership skills with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage crises.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Broad production experience.
  • Lead Process Coach experience.
  • 6-sigma designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
