About the position

The Team Manager-Production at Ford Motor Company is responsible for overseeing production teams to ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met. This role involves coaching and developing employees, managing production processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will work closely with various teams to optimize operations and maintain high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coach safety, quality, and productivity teams to ensure objectives are met through standardized work.
• Ensure the production line runs safely, smoothly, and produces quality parts through process confirmation and worker accountability.
• Teach, confirm, and ensure adherence to all Plant Operating Systems.
• Responsible for the training and implementation of production work teams.
• Manage yard campaigns and reduce plant inventory levels.
• Drive the Manage the Change (MTC) process and ensure compliance to processes.
• Develop relationships with other areas to achieve business results and resolve floor-level issues.
• Identify training gaps and implement plans to achieve versatility requirements.
• Strategic planning and coordination of Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) activities to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives.
• Drive and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PMs) processes.
• Assist in addressing equipment downtime issues and support problem-solving activities within the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong leadership skills to lead, empower, and develop employees
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Production, Maintenance, and/or Quality experience

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in the automotive industry
• Six Sigma/LEAN experience
