About the position

This job posting is for a position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not Jack in the Box Inc. This means the independent franchisee, and not Jack in the Box Inc. will be your employer if you are hired. The independent franchisee is responsible for all employment related matters in the restaurant including, among other things, setting any requirements for this job and all decisions concerning hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing and scheduling. As a Team Member at Jack in the Box, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by consistently providing excellent service, great tasting/quality food, and maintaining a clean restaurant environment. You will perform one or more workstations in accordance with JIB procedures, systems, and standards, and meet the 20/20 guest expectations. This includes being well-trained, friendly, and organized, while ensuring food quality and safety. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness in both the front and back of the restaurant, assist guests with their orders, and work collaboratively with your team to ensure a smooth operation. The role requires a commitment to the brand and a focus on guest satisfaction, treating guests with care and respect, and being proactive in addressing their needs. You will also be responsible for various tasks including food preparation, order assembly, and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant. This position is non-exempt and reports directly to the Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional guest experience by providing excellent service and quality food.
  • Maintain a clean restaurant environment for all guests.
  • Perform one or more workstations in accordance with JIB procedures and standards.
  • Acknowledge and welcome guests immediately upon arrival.
  • Take and clarify orders, assist guests with menu selections, and enter orders in the POS system.
  • Assemble orders and ensure timely and accurate preparation of food.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocking of work areas, including dining areas and restrooms.
  • Prepare menu products according to procedures and ensure food quality standards are met.
  • Follow all food safety policies and procedures to ensure guest safety.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet guest needs and maintain a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Experience in guest service or food preparation is helpful.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; may require knowledge of another language based on location.
  • Ability to read and understand written English and perform basic math operations.
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately 90%-95% of the shift and move freely throughout the restaurant.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15-25 lbs.
