About the position

The Team Member/Customer Service role at Hard Hat Gear involves providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment focused on safety gear and equipment. The position requires building relationships with customers, assisting them in selecting products, and ensuring a well-stocked and organized sales floor. This part-time role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work in a laid-back, family-oriented atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long lasting relationships with recurring customers.
  • Assist customers in selecting work boots, explaining the different types of safety features to ensure the best fit.
  • Engage in suggestive selling, offering alternatives and related items to increase sales.
  • Merchandise and restock products on the sales floor.
  • Ensure products are properly priced and displayed in the correct department.
  • Assist customer inquiries via telephone, email and in store.
  • Process transactions accurately using POS systems and cash registers, including cash handling.
  • Always willing to go the extra mile.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail store preferred.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and self-motivated.
  • Positive attitude and a strong team player.
  • Must have a steady employment record.
  • Experience with receiving inventory is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation is a must.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours or shifts as needed.
  • Saturday availability required.
