About the position

The Team Member position at Family Farm and Home involves supporting daily operations and providing excellent customer service in a retail environment. The role focuses on promoting the company's mission and values while executing operational goals set by management. Team Members are expected to interact positively with customers, assist with various store tasks, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
  • Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management.
  • Utilize Farm Hand to receive communication and tasks from corporate office and store management.
  • Greet customers as they enter/exit the store.
  • Interact with store customers in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Solicit customers to sign up for Family Farm and Home Programs, such as Loyalty program and Extended Warranties.
  • Answer phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Approach and assist customers in store and on Family Farm and Home supported internet sites.
  • Process special orders and utilize POS to checkout customers following cash handling procedures.
  • Utilize On the Go to complete POG's and Mass layouts as per store layout.
  • Utilize Harvester to complete online customer orders.
  • Support and solicit customers to use financing options and complete customer credit inquiries.
  • Assist in setting promotional signage, price changes, and clearance prices as directed by management.
  • Assist in freight, recovery, and out of stock processes.
  • Achieve passing scores on corporate store audits and assessments.
  • Maintain awareness of in-store safety issues and shoplifting activities, communicating potential issues to management.
  • Uphold and support all company Loss Prevention measures.
  • Operate a forklift and/or pallet jack safely and efficiently (only for those 18 years and older).
  • Assist in building/assembling store displays, products, and fixtures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, receiving, cash office, register area, restrooms, and break room.
  • Uphold merchandising, store cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Assist in the completion of Daily Operational standards checklist.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment for all team members.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by store management or company officials.

Requirements

  • Ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
  • Basic understanding of retail operations and customer service principles.
  • Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Familiarity with store layout and merchandising standards.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and loss prevention measures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with financing options and credit inquiries.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or pallet jack (for those 18 years and older).
