About the position

As a Team Member at Giant Eagle, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring a safe environment for both customers and fellow Team Members. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers with their shopping experience, managing check-out processes, and maintaining product availability on the sales floor. This position emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to supporting your colleagues to achieve collective success.

Responsibilities

  • Replenish products on the shelf, ensuring proper rotation and adherence to code dating procedures.
  • Ring up guests' orders by scanning products or entering prices into the register, finalizing sales and collecting payments.
  • Set up displays on the sales floor to enhance product visibility.
  • Assist with light stocking duties and notify management of any out-of-stock items.
  • Maintain back room efficiency by unloading deliveries and organizing stock.
  • Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
  • Return misplaced items to their proper locations.
  • Bag grocery orders and assist guests in placing them into their carts.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and greet guests in a friendly manner.
  • Handle products and equipment according to food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Promote an inclusive environment that respects diversity among Team Members, customers, vendors, and the community.

Requirements

  • 0 to 6 months of experience in a customer service role.
  • No high school diploma required, but must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
