About the position

The Team Member at Whataburger is a crucial business partner responsible for ensuring that each customer's experience meets or exceeds expectations. This role involves providing high-quality, freshly-prepared food in a clean and friendly environment. Team Members will participate in a skills development program and achieve certification in specific stations associated with their position, paving the way for career advancement within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Protects and promotes the Whataburger Brand at all times.
  • Notifies management in advance when unable to report to work as scheduled.
  • Checks with management prior to leaving the restaurant at the scheduled time.
  • Recognizes and communicates customer service problems to the manager on duty.
  • Attends all meetings and training sessions as required by management.
  • Submits requests for work schedule changes according to management guidelines.
  • Demonstrates Whataburger's Family Value Proposition, Pride, Care, and Love.
  • Continues to learn and improve job skills as directed through performance appraisals.
  • Learns and adheres to the guidelines set by Company policy.
  • Demonstrates respect for all Whataburger Family Members and treats each with dignity.
  • Ensures all products are prepared according to quality standards and delivered to the customer within service time standards.
  • Supports food production through the preparation and stocking of various food items as directed by management.
  • Promotes excellence in customer relations to the rest of the team.
  • Operates all designated food production or customer service stations as directed.
  • Achieves certification at the specific stations associated with the position.
  • Maintains sufficient amounts of prepped produce for the next shift.
  • Cleans the customer service areas and disposes of all trash properly.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years or older and legally authorized to work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, and push.
  • Ability to read orders on tickets, menu boards, receipts, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer service role is a plus.
