About the position

The Milton Family Community Center (MFCC) is seeking a cheerful and flexible team teacher to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community and enjoy working with children. As a team teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting our early childcare programs and ensuring that our operations run smoothly. Your responsibilities will vary from day to day, providing you with a diverse and engaging work experience. You will be involved in various tasks, including assisting in early childcare classrooms, preparing meals for our programs, and providing front desk support for our food shelf. This role requires a person who is adaptable, enjoys the silliness of young children, and is willing to step in wherever needed to help others. A significant aspect of this position will be meal planning and preparation for our early childcare program, ensuring that nutritious meals are provided to our children. Additionally, you will assist in three different classrooms during the middle of the day, allowing teachers to take necessary breaks. Building strong relationships with students is essential, as you will become a familiar and trusted substitute in each classroom. Your contributions will not only support the teachers but also enhance the overall experience for the children at MFCC. In addition to classroom support, you will also take on front receptionist duties, which include answering phones and greeting food shelf participants. This multifaceted role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the well-being of our community.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in three different classrooms during the middle of the day so teachers can have breaks
  • Building good relationships with students to become a well-known substitute in each classroom
  • Meal prep ahead of breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks served at the center
  • General help with classroom organization and cleaning
  • Front receptionist duties, including answering the phone and greeting food shelf participants
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting
  • Ability to prepare meals and manage food safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to various roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to build relationships with children and staff

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a substitute teaching role
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles
  • Culinary skills or experience in meal preparation
