The Teams Relations Specialist at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. plays a crucial role in managing and promoting programs and policies that enhance the employee experience throughout their lifecycle. This position operates under general supervision and is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal standards while fostering a positive workplace culture. The specialist will collect, analyze, and communicate employee engagement data, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of action plans. Additionally, they will manage complaints or concerns related to employment practices, behavior, or working conditions, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues effectively. The role also involves promoting techniques and tools that facilitate positive employee and labor relations, with a strong understanding of federal laws affecting both union and nonunion workplaces. The specialist will apply knowledge of organizational culture and practices to identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of action plans. They will promote organizational policies and procedures, including the MBUSI HR One policy, Integrity Code, and time and attendance regulations. Furthermore, the Teams Relations Specialist will support management in the performance management process, including employee reviews, promotions, and recognition programs. They will also assist in performance activities such as coaching and performance improvement plans, while managing legal risks associated with employment activities like job eliminations and reductions in force. The specialist will lead activities related to team member services, ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to safety rules and regulations. Overall, this position is integral to maintaining a positive and compliant workplace culture at Mercedes-Benz.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and communicate employee engagement data; identify opportunities and support implementation of action plans.
  • Manage complaints or concerns involving employment practices, behavior, or working conditions, and support resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Promote techniques and tools for facilitating positive employee and labor relations with knowledge of applicable federal laws affecting union and nonunion workplaces.
  • Understand and apply organizational culture, theories, and practices; identify opportunities and support implementation of action plans.
  • Promote organizational policies and procedures such as MBUSI HR One policy, Integrity Code, time and attendance, and expenses.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of programs, federal laws, and regulations to promote outreach, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Support and consult with management in the performance management process including employee reviews, promotions, and recognition programs.
  • Support performance activities and employment activities by managing corresponding legal risks.
  • Support and lead activities for team member services as required.
  • Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs, reporting all unsafe acts, conditions, and injuries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related area, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in HR Management or Employee Relations.
  • Advanced multi-disciplinary knowledge of Human Relations principles and best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and functions as a key resource for interpretation and compliance with the law, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to focus on customer needs and achieve results effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and apply time management independently.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential documents and information.
  • Computer skills including application of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates patience and understanding, with the ability to remain calm and diffuse tense or angry situations.
