About the position

The Tech Enablement Senior role at USAA is a pivotal position within the Media and Social Channel Management team, aimed at enhancing the financial security of U.S. military members and their families. This position requires a dedicated individual who can serve as a direct representative of the business on an agile team, effectively communicating the business vision and needs to write and refine user stories, prioritize work, and provide guidance to technical teams. The role demands critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as a strong understanding of Agile principles to partner with business owners, subject matter experts, and the development team to build effective solutions. In this role, the Tech Enablement Senior will champion the adoption of new technology by developing an enablement and onboarding strategy and roadmap. This includes creating and delivering clear and relevant training for the respective business/function as new technologies are rolled out, ensuring that stakeholders can self-service effectively. The position also involves educating stakeholders on existing and upcoming technology and capabilities, sourcing and sharing best practices to drive standardization and excellence in the application of technology to achieve business outcomes. The Tech Enablement Senior will work closely with business and Subject Matter Experts to understand business strategy and vision, writing, refining, accepting, and prioritizing stories and/or features to support effective and compliant solutions while balancing investment and business value. This role requires ownership of a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams, ensuring that the product backlog includes complete user stories with acceptance criteria that are consumable and testable by the Agile team or program. The individual will also serve as a direct representative of the business with delivery teams, participating in cross-functional teams to develop, execute, and release in alignment with program and/or product road maps. Additionally, the Tech Enablement Senior will partner with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT to define and document relevant business processes, preparing the business for change and providing tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk. The role requires advanced knowledge in business development and execution, with a focus on enhancing and improving the function. The individual will also coach and mentor other Product Owners, ensuring that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Works with business and Subject Matter Experts to understand business strategy and vision and then writes, refines, accepts and prioritizes stories and/or features to support effective and compliant solutions while balancing investment and business value.
  • Owns and maintains a prioritized work backlog for one or more Agile teams, ensuring the product backlog includes complete user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Serves as direct representative of the business with one or more delivery teams, representing the customers' perspective throughout the product delivery cycle.
  • Participates in a cross-functional team of user experience partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product road maps.
  • Partners with other Tech Enablement team members to ensure clear and effective communication across all business and functions involved in a new technology build.
  • Partners with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT to facilitate, define and document relevant business processes, gaining an advanced understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the improvement area.
  • Prepares the business for the change and provides tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk.
  • Works with different technologies, internal and external to have oversight of development, testing and controls.
  • Applies advanced knowledge in the business development/execution discipline, regularly seeking out opportunities to enhance, improve and advance the function.
  • Coaches and mentors other Product Owners.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in multiple business or system domains and capable of leading development across multiple teams at the project or program level.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or directly related to supported business operations/product line.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, applicable databases and product management tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, SAFe).
  • Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to identify opportunities to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies.
  • Advanced ability to independently work to gather business requirements, process flows and use cases to develop and deliver on business capabilities within the approved methodology, writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance.
  • Experience in analyzing business requirements and ability to identify opportunities to drive decisions and streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
  • Experience in working across many functions to manage products in marketing technology, advertising technology, or marketing analytics.
  • Past success creating marketing strategies, product and business roadmaps, marketing project plans, marketing technology adoption techniques, and training materials.
  • Experience in educating and upskilling on marketing technology and best practices.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with a deep understanding of their importance to business objectives.
  • Experience with Marketing Technology front door and governance routines to ensure a compliant environment for marketing users.
  • Experience with providing Marketing Technology business value and use cases for Marketing contracts and statements of work.
  • Deep expertise in Marketing Technology and process to ensure an effective and user-friendly user experience.
  • Experience with one or more of these Marketing Technology platforms: Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Campaign, Aprimo, PEGA, LiveRamp and Tealium.
