About the position

Total Safety is seeking a Fire Technician to join their safety-focused team. The role involves providing service, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of various fire equipment, including portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment, and fire detection systems. The Fire Technician will ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain accurate documentation of services provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop service and field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment.
• Complete all documentation associated with inspection and repair in a timely manner.
• Conduct detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment.
• Assist in facilities by stocking shelves and preparing customer orders for delivery.
• Maintain work area and assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
• Rig-up and use a wide range of safety equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Ability to pass internal forklift certification.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for short and long-term projects.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card and pass required safety testing.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Forklift experience is considered a plus.
• Associate degree or technical training in a related field.
