About the position
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) at Union Health plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care in the operating room. This position involves assisting surgeons during procedures, preparing the surgical environment, and ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses.
- Maintain aseptic conditions and infection control protocols.
- Monitor and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Handle specimens and facilitate their transfer to the laboratory.
- Clean and restock the operating room after each surgery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and successful surgical outcomes.
Requirements
- Must have graduated from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Must have active CST certification.
- Must have active BLS certification.
- Experience preferred.
