About the position
The Offshore Fire Technician III at Total Safety is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of various fire safety equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that fire protection systems are operational and compliant with regulatory standards, contributing to the safety and well-being of offshore operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs of fixed fire detection systems.
- Maintain and repair fixed gas detection systems and suppression systems.
- Service portable and semi-portable fire extinguishers and lifesaving equipment.
- Ensure all systems are in good working order per manufacturer's specifications.
- Comply with the most up-to-date regulatory standards for fire safety equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fire safety equipment servicing.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- TWIC card required.
- Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Electrical experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice-to-haves
- Current Louisiana State Fire Marshal endorsement in Fire Alarm, Fixed Fire Suppression, and Fire Extinguishers and Hoses.
- Experience with THUET and OPITO certifications.
- Safe Gulf Certification.
- Ability to read SAFE charts, fire safety plans, and schematics.
