About the position

The Tech Lab 1 position at CSL Plasma involves independently performing, interpreting, and troubleshooting laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other assays as required. The role requires developing proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples. Responsibilities include performing routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods, analyzing test results against set controls, and completing maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The position adheres to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and all regulatory standards within the lab. The technician will share information with internal contacts to reach solutions, follow safety regulations, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Additionally, the role involves operating analytical instrumentation, performing troubleshooting and calibration, and documenting routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment. Other job-related duties may include training in multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs, interprets and troubleshoots laboratory procedures related to unit and/or donor suitability testing and other assays.
  • Develops proficiency in laboratory information systems and workflow of samples.
  • Performs routine analytical testing using manual and automated methods and procedures.
  • Analyzes test results against set controls.
  • Completes maintenance and Quality Control (QC) per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Works within the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adheres to all regulatory standards within the Lab.
  • Shares information with internal contacts with common desire to reach a solution.
  • Follows all safety regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and rules.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work environment.
  • Operates analytical instrumentation and technical laboratory equipment.
  • Performs and documents troubleshooting and calibration of instructions.
  • Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance of assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.
  • Notifies Supervisor of unresolved instrument issues.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned, including training in multiple departments.

Requirements

  • Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT), licensure in the State of Tennessee preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of related experience preferred.
  • Requires intermediate to strong computer skills.
  • Communicates effectively within the department and with other lab departments.
