About the position

The Tech Lead Cloud & DevOps Engineering position at Abbott is responsible for leading cloud operations, developer experience, and data infrastructure practices within the Lingo Division. This role involves delivering operational services, ensuring application health and availability, and supporting development teams during product releases. The Tech Lead will also develop best practices for cloud data services and maintain compliance with corporate policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cloud operations and data infrastructure practices at Lingo.
  • Deliver operational services including monitoring systems and incident resolution.
  • Participate in product releases and support development teams.
  • Partner with engineering on operational improvements to cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop best practices for using data services in the cloud.
  • Implement observability and monitoring for web and mobile applications.
  • Ensure continuous hardening of cloud infrastructure with cybersecurity teams.
  • Define best practices for deploying data infrastructure in Azure Cloud.
  • Nurture relationships with key suppliers of cloud technologies.
  • Assess effectiveness of standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Create and manage a 24x7 monitoring and support strategy for cloud and DevOps infrastructure.
  • Develop technical designs for new cloud applications and systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud operations and DevOps.
  • Experience setting up robust observability and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Experience managing strict SLAs and operational KPIs.
  • Deep insights into the newest cloud technologies and trends.
  • Ability to make architectural decisions at a team and production level.
  • Extensive knowledge on app development, cybersecurity, cloud development, and deployment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with cloud security and identity management services.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or similar technical disciplines.
  • Experience with New Relic, Sentry, and Pager Duty for monitoring tools.
