About the position

The position is focused on leading the E-Commerce Governance Platform team at TikTok, which is responsible for ensuring a safe and trustworthy marketplace for buyers, sellers, and creators. The role involves designing solutions, providing technical support, aligning with business objectives, and fostering team growth and morale. The candidate will play a crucial role in defining the technical roadmap and managing cross-functional collaborations to deliver key results.

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect solutions while providing technical support for engineers in the team.
  • Align with business and organizational objectives, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver key results.
  • Contribute to technical decisions on projects and products.
  • Define the long-term technical roadmap for the team.
  • Build team structure and morale, assisting team members with their career growth.

Requirements

  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical collaborators across functions and levels.
  • Strong experience with E-Commerce; governance experience including Anti-Fraud and Risk Management is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing or tech leading a software engineering team with 5+ engineers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems.
