About the position

As a Tech Lead Manager for Content E-commerce at TikTok, you will play a pivotal role in refining and optimizing the core architecture of the Content E-commerce platform. Your primary focus will be to ensure that the system is highly available, scalable, and maintainable, with an emphasis on stability, security, and global adaptability. You will oversee project priorities and ensure that quality architectural deliverables are met, driving technical initiatives from inception to full-scale deployment. In this role, you will strategically develop and maintain a comprehensive technical plan that anticipates future challenges, ensuring that the platform remains at the forefront of the industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and Quality Assurance (QA), to align and amplify the architectural vision and engineering roadmap. Additionally, you will engage in and lead the research and application of new technologies relevant to the content e-commerce business. As a leader, you will mentor the engineering team by overseeing the hiring processes, nurturing career progression, and providing ongoing training and mentorship. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives impact for the company and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Refine and optimize the core architecture of the Content E-commerce platform, ensuring a system that is highly available, scalable, and maintainable.
• Oversee project priorities, ensuring quality architectural deliverables.
• Drive technical initiatives from inception to full-scale deployment.
• Strategically develop and maintain a comprehensive technical plan that anticipates future challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Infra, SRE, and QA to align and amplify the architectural vision and engineering roadmap.
• Engage in and lead the research and application of new technologies relevant to the content e-commerce business.
• Lead and mentor the engineering team by overseeing the hiring processes, nurturing career progression, and providing ongoing training and mentorship.

Requirements

• 2+ years tech-leading a software engineering team.
• 5+ years of large scale backend system development experience.
• Experience in Internet live-streaming apps and e-commerce is preferred.
• Strong business understanding ability, strong technical learning and transfer ability, strong sense of responsibility, good communication and teamwork skills are preferred.
